Cricket Chirper

Summary:
Nothing says summer evenings like the call of serenading crickets.  That distinctive song is actually the sound of crickets rubbing their wings together - a technique call stridulation.  With a few wooden beads glued to two skewers, you can chime in with the chirping choir.

What you need:

Scissors

2 - 10 inch skewers

15 - 1/2 inch beads

Tacky Glue

What to do:

Use scissors to cut the pointed tips from two 10 - inch wooden skewers.

Thread fifteen 1/2 - inch beads tightly together onto each one and use tacky glue to secure the end beads to the skewers.

When the glue is dry, play your instrument by rubbing the beaded sections against each other.
