CDA TRAINING ONLINE THROUGH EAGER-TO-LEARN
Child care providers can meet their 120-hour National Child Development Associate (CDA) training requirements through Eager-to-Learn. Students receive the training requirements in one year for approximately half the price of traditional CDA training. The Eager-to-Learn CDA cohort program offers a comprehensive base of knowledge and skills focused on meeting the needs of the whole child. Eager-to-Learn is pleased to offer two options to fulfill the 120 hour CDA training requirement. Senate Bill Introduced Will Help to Improve CACFP
Sen. Gillibrand of NY introduced The Access to Nutritious Meals Act of 2009. This bill sets important priorities to improve CACFP during reauthorization of the Child Nutrition Act, which is likely next year.
Sen. Gillibrand’s bill would:
· increase meal reimbursements served in family child care homes by $.20/meal and $.10 snack;
· add a third meal;
· expand area eligibility (tiering) so that more providers are considered tier I;
· reduce paperwork burdens; and
· provide resources for sponsors.
